about

i have read somewhere that one shouldn’t attach so much importance to who sits or stands behind the words we read. i guess it is because information of a biographical kind doesn’t actually tell us anything about how good a writer is or could become. instead it draws out the picture of someone who might appeal to us, or not at all. and that might get in the way of how we feel about what we have read by that very person. there is something about this approach that i agree with, and although i myself often feel curious about authors whose stuff i’ve read, i have decided not to reveal anything more than what my writing will. in the future i might change my mind, but for now, allow me to write without a story attached to me.
